Regarding two rural electrification projects with electrical energy of photovoltaic origin developed by the CER-UNI for the DEP-MEM between October 1999 and July 2000, which essentially meant the installation of 123 and 658 Home Photovoltaic Systems (SFD). In more than 40 extreme communities in Peru, mostly jungle, the need arose to calculate the cost of
electrical service derived from the installation of these 781 SFDs and the associated management model, called
ned "Assignment in use", for a project life horizon of 20 years. Task that was accomplished
within the contractual framework that supported the aforementioned execution.
Considering that this technological model that sells electrical service is an alternative put into practice and that it could be repeated in the near future in other locations in Peru, the CER-UNI has believed
It is advisable to expand the "photovoltaic tariff study" referred to above, developing a model for calculating the tariff of the electrical service corresponding to dispersed SFDs, installed in communities typically far from the electrical border of the public network and that is useful, not only for the referred calculation, but also and mainly to be a tool whose use contributes to the progress of the task of identification and definition of alternative procedures for PV technology transfer to rural areas.
