This first issue contains a diverse thematic range, selected from a set of works produced by members of our academic community, to which are added articles by two German researchers on urban issues of special interest. This diversity is an obligatory entry step into the field of the variety of issues to be addressed in the field of urban studies, territorial development, and the challenges posed to these disciplines by new currents of thought and globalizing trends in society.
