Abstract

This article attempts to show the importance of the relationship between urban environment quality and the commercial activity that translated in conglomerates and commercial buildings being developed in the city. The importance to use a methodology as a tool for local governments, technicians and professionals that are involved in studies and management planning of environmental impacts for buildings related to shopping malls is analyzed. Problems such as the legal loops related to the assessment of environmental impacts of commercial projects can be taken into account under this methodology, and, on the other hand, the lack of guides or policies applicable to this kind of buildings resultant from the corresponding Sector.
