Abstract

Advances of the research refered to the symbolic manifestations of the architecture in the Formative period was shown in order to correlate the formal evidences with the logic of thought in the same period (1). There is evidence of archeological sites that show a trend in the organization of their spaces and in the forms of their buildings, they became "models" or "patterns". The purpose was to interpret hypothetically the architecture as a system of communication, and too therefore as a lecture of cultural patterns. It was considered that the organization models of space and time, the archetypes or patterns where modes of thought are recreated, mental and logic structures of communication, or sensations ranging from the numinoso to the symbolic, as essentials as the subsistence. The article seeks to understand the architecture as memory, knowledge and regeneration. The material evidences showed spaces strongly linked to rituals of a sacred time, from the Initial Formative in all its complexity to the late periods of the Tawantinsuyu. Finally, it was determined, that spatial models are cultural symbols materially expressed in the architecture, besides the organization of the space and the time, had a high relation with rituals.
