Typological Study of housing in Tacna

Abstract

The article, summary of a larger work, studying the house in Tacna, special case of vernacular house in the Peruvian coast, despite its formal expression characteristic, slanted roof, and their specific regional location makes it more striking, it had not deserved serious research so far. This paper describes twelve types of house, showing the evolution of the
intial module or basic prototype, called "room" by the author, it room which goes through colonial, republican and frenchified influences; and, based on them, proposes a general categorization. Finally an unexpected North African
history is was revealed.
