Gustave Eiffel in Peru
Tacna´s Cathedral. Between the myth and reality

Gustave Eiffel has been considered in the engineering and architecture fields as the promoter of innovative techniques and systems in the midst of the Industrial Revolution. But his contributions were not only scientific, he was also a great entrepreneur envisioning the business world and foreign investments. All these qualities stood out in the persona we studied, permitting him coming to Peru with examples of his genius and work. The purpose of this investigation is not only to include the projects and work carried out by Mr. Eiffel in our country but also to clarify the enigma of one building, the Tacna’s Cathedral.
