Urbanization in the Mantaro Valley and its influence on agriculture

Abstract

The urban development based on free market, has been preyed agricultural land in Mantaro Valley, this model causing negative impacts as pollution of Mantaro river, because most of the small town spour theirs sewage into de river. In fact the main effects ther eduction of agricultural área and the main economic activity of the valley.
In this regard, the author's concernis to explain how hroughthe history the urban developed systems and thea gricultural activity they wererelated. So the idea is to reflect about the possible future scenarios to try to found someway to redirect the model of urban development considering the geography of the Mantaro valley as the main element to be protected.
