New ways of conceiving urbanism

Urbanism sees the territory as well as a physical space with certain characteristics (topography, altitude, climate) and as living space. From this perspective, organize and condition the territory constitutes two of the main concerns of urbanism, which are no other new party; there since man changed the hunting and gathering to agriculture, and devised mechanisms to ensure their reproduction, protect against environmental threats and facilitate travel and economic, social, political or cultural exchanges. The natural area is the result of these multiple human interventions, aimed at better use of the specific conditions of each geographic area.
Today the design and planning of cities has become more complex by the lack ofcoherence between urban regulations
-national or municipal, and consumerism, lifestyle, and the labor regime, demonstrating the failure of urban public politics. This situation requires a radical change of course.
This article explores this scenario and proposes some lines of thought trying to contribute to a necessary debate.
