Coast hills: A new urban system for the other Lima

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to sustain, by avoiding any scientific reductionism, the viability of a new urban system located in Lima's coastal hills. Before the proposal is developed, it is relevant to make a brief review of the paradigms that have influenced the country's developmental strategies and its consequent urban praxis when facing the housing problem. Furthermore, through an ecosystem analysis of the same topic, it will be possible to put into evidence the limits of the actual urbanistic overview, which correlates different urban problems such as the housing deficit and the coast hills deforestation to discover, at the end, that the solution relies within them.
