Spatial Planning as a tool for Economic Development

Planning is considered an instrument that directs the processes of development in a country. It is a socio-political process involving a number of social and political dynamics around the identification of problems and potential for the formulation of future bets. In the territory there are various tools to promote localized investments that can guide the development of certain cities or regions. In this case we present examples of investment promotion policies that are analyzed under the scheme of industrial promotion policies, initiatives of regional and binational integration, that aure built in order to promote trade for the benefit of the society and results in an improvement of their life conditions and social development. For this it is necessary to understand the context in which these policies are developed to establish the degree of influence on economic activity promoted and their possible corrections
