Devenir is a journal edited and published by the Editorial Office of the Architecture, Urbanism and Arts Faculty of the National Engineering University (Lima, Peru). It gathers research developed around built heritage, with the purpose of promoting knowledge and academic and scientific debate on the subject. It is an international academic publication. Its format and publication is electronic. Its periodicity is semiannual. The first issue is from January to June and is published on May 1st. The second issue, from July to December, is published on November 1st.

Devenir emerged in 2013 as part of an "editorial revolution" started by three monographic scientific journals that the newly created Editorial Office of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Arts (ediFAUA) offered. Since then, with the institutional support of different actors, both in the faculty itself and in the university, it has been possible to develop the journal up to the current point in which we find ourselves.

Becoming has a Scientific Committee consisting of 12 experts from various disciplines, and institutional and geographical backgrounds. Their participation is essential not only in the discussion of strategic lines and the proposal of academic strengthening issues, but also in the development of the journal itself: the preparation of bibliographic reviews, interviews and the "In Memoriam" section. Likewise, the journal has so far convened a Committee of Blind Peers made up of 50 specialists from different countries and disciplines, who have unselfishly collaborated in ensuring the rigor and quality of the published studies.

Since 2017 we are indexed by Latindex in our printed version and we are ready to continue in that process in order to ensure the academic excellence that has characterized us. To review the indexes, repositories and databases where the journal is registered, visit the Indexes section.
